Skyspark, an electric aircraft 'green' aims to beat in the fall of 2009 the international aviation record speed and flight time in its class.

Originally the project, there is a spin off from the Polytechnic University of Turin, the company DIGISKY and the research group of the Department of Aerospace Engineering of the Polytechnic of Turin (Diaspis).

Introduced in late January for the Environment Park of Turin, SkySpark is intended as a microcosm of the future aircraft technology: lithium polymer battery, brushless electric motor, an automatic compensation system to optimize battery performance during the flight, or a integrated power electronic controller.

Launched in 2007, the aircraft will be unveiled at the World Air Games 2009 to be held in June in Turin, before the attempt planned for this fall. Most affected by the boat would be a flight of 500 km at an average speed of 300 km / h. The aircraft will be flown by Maurizio Cheli, Italian astronaut and now chief test pilot of the Eurofighter program.
